Therapy Practice Policies
To avoid any surprises, please review the below policies. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
-
Please let me know before your first appointment if you have any questions about session fees.
The credit card you place on file during the intake paperwork process is automatically charged the night of each session unless you cancel with 48-hours notice.
If you plan to submit your superbill to your insurance company for reimbursement, please note that insurance companies do not reimburse for late cancellation fees.
-
Once a recurring appointment has been set, plan to meet at that time unless we have discussed cancelling or rescheduling.
Cancellations happen from time to time (e.g., sickness, vacation, personal emergency), but in general you are agreeing to attend every scheduled session.
You are responsible for your session fee if a cancellation is made with less than 48-hours notice and it is not possible to find an alternative time to meet that same week. Please be aware that insurance companies will not reimburse you for missed session fees.
If you miss two consecutive sessions without being in contact, unless other arrangements have been made in advance, I will assume that you’ve decided to end treatment and close your case.
Because of different state’s licensing requirements, I can only provide therapy to individuals physically in California or New York at the time of session.

I will do my best to respond to your phone, text, or emails within business day.
If you experience a medical or psychiatric emergency, please call 911 or go to your local emergency room. Once you are safe, please reach out and update me on what is happening.
I do my utmost to protect your privacy, but cannot ensure the confidentiality of any form of communication through electronic media, including text messages. Please tell me directly if you would prefer not to communicate through electronic means.
Email and text messaging are only used for practical matters, such as scheduling. All clinical issues should exclusively be discussed in session or by phone if necessary.
I do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on any social networking sites.
